Mostly residential, El Burrero is a former fisherman neighborhood.
El Burrero beach is located in the coastal town with the same name, in the municipality of Ingenio. It is next to the airport of Gran Canaria, with what coexists with the traffic of airplanes. However, noise doesn’t interfere in daily life. There is a good local atmosphere.
The area of El Burrero is quite windy, so its beach too. Therefore, it is ideal for water sports such as surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing. In fact, the beach is divided into several areas: bathing, surfing and windsurfing or kitesurfing.
The part suitable for the bath is the one that is more sheltered by a volcanic rock, El Roque. Still, you should know that there is plenty of wind on the beach and could be uncomfortable. The beach of El Burrero has the distinguished blue flag, that is, an award that certifies its environmental quality, both the quality of its waters, and the number of services it offers. In this case, it has access for people with reduced mobility, showers, services, surveillance and parking. It does not have hammocks, but it does have large wooden tatami to lie on.
On the main street, ending at the pier there are some restaurants and cafeterias along with a supermarket and pharmacy.

La playa de El Burrero se encuentra en la localidad costera del mismo nombre, en el municipio de Ingenio. Está al lado del aeropuerto de Gran Canaria, con lo que convive con el tráfico de aviones. Sin embargo, el ruido no interfiere en la vida diaria. Hay un buen ambiente local.
La zona de El Burrero es bastante ventosa, por lo que su playa también. Por ello, es ideal para la práctica de deportes acuáticos como el surf, el kitesurf y el windsurf. De hecho, la playa se divide en varias zonas: baño, surf y windsurf o kitesurf.

La playa de El Burrero cuenta con la bandera azul distinguida, es decir, un galardón que certifica su calidad ambiental, tanto la calidad de sus aguas, como la cantidad de servicios que ofrece. En este caso, cuenta con acceso para personas con movilidad reducida, duchas, servicios, vigilancia y estacionamiento. No tiene hamacas, pero sí un gran tatami de madera para tumbarse.
En la calle principal, que termina en el muelle, hay algunos restaurantes y cafeterías, además de un supermercado y una farmacia.
