A spot you shouldn’t miss is Puerto de Mogán. It’s in the south of Gran Canaria approximately 30 km away from Playa del Inglés. You can choose going straight and faster by highway or taking the old road (in perfect conditions today and more pinturesque) where you’ll find sandy beaches like Puerto Rico, Patalavaca, Amadores, Arguineguín or Taurito, which lie along on the route. On the roundabout you’ll find the bus stop where you can take line 1, line 32, or line 33 to get there. On the way there you can listen the podcast on the history of Mogán and the Port.
Puerto de Mogán is at the end of this route and is one of the most picturesque and welcoming spots in the south of Gran Canaria. It is the perfect place to stop and eat or to take a quiet break for a drink under the bougainvilleas and hibiscus colouring the white houses leading to the harbour. There are many places to sit outside the port’s terrace cafés. Ask for fresh fish and some “papas arrugadas” (wrinkled potatoes). From 8 to 2 pm you’ll streets are alive with the open air market.

The Port also has a marina with 225 moorings housing a mixture of fishing boats and yachts, bringing life to the port’s bars. It is also the mooring point for deep sea fishing boats.

If your plan is spending the day, you can try lunch at the “Cofradía de Pescadores”: fresh fish and seafood could be a good option.

Day excursions leave from this point every day to tour around the island’s southern coast. The yellow submarine also leaves from here offering a tour of the rich marine seabed in the area. You’ll also find that the seabed along the Mogan coast is phenomenally beautiful and a well kept secret among scuba diving fans.

Un lugar para no perderse es el Puerto de Mogán. Está en el sur de Gran Canaria Aproximadamente 30 km de Playa del Inglés. Se puede ir directamente y rápido por la nueva autopista o tomar la antigua carretera (en perfectas condiciones hoy y más pintoresca) donde encontrará playas de arena como Puerto Rico , Patalavaca , Amadores, Arguineguín o Taurito a lo largo de la carretera. En la rotonda justo frente a los apartamentos encontrarás la parada de autobús donde puedes elegir entre la línea 1, línea 32 o línea 33 que te llevan allí. En el camino puedes escuchar el podcast sobre Mogán y el Puerto.
Puerto de Mogán se encuentra al final de esta carretera y es uno de los lugares más pintorescos y acogedores en el sur de Gran Canaria. Es el lugar perfecto para parar y comer o tomar un descanso tranquilo con una copa bajo las buganvillas e hibiscos que dan color a las casas blancas que conducen al puerto. Hay muchos lugares para sentarse fuera en terrazas y cafés del puerto. Pide pescado fresco y papa arrugadas.

El puerto también cuenta con un puerto deportivo con 225 amarres que alberga una mezcla de barcos de pesca y yates, dando vida a los bares del puerto. También tienen puntos de amarre para embarcaciones de pesca de altura.

Si el plan es pasar el día, se puede comer en la “Cofradía de Pescadores”: pescado y marisco fresco puede ser una buena opción.

Excursiones de un día salen de esta playa todos los días para pasear por la costa sur de la isla. El submarino amarillo sale desde aquí ofrece un recorrido por el rico fondo marino en la zona. El lecho marino a lo largo de la costa de Mogán es particularmente rica y un secreto bien guardado entre los aficionados al buceo.

Winter, from December till April, is pleasantly warm with cool nights. The average high temperature is 22°C for the whole season, getting just a tiny bit cooler in January at 21°C. Nights are generally cool throughout the season and require some warm clothes. Rainfall is low and reduces as the season progresses, but cool and some showers can surprise without warning. Sunshine levels stay around six hours per day. The water temperature rarely falls below 19°C. Up in the mountains is cooler and snow could fall.

The diverse climates of Gran Canaria have created equally diverse landscapes. You can find anything from desert to tropical forest and from palm groves to alpine meadows. There is something for everyone on Gran Canaria: packed, seaside megaresorts, pubs, bars and nightclubs, golf courses in the south and secluded beaches, a coral reef for scuba diving and endless routes for hiking, ciclying and climbing on the rest of the island.

For the optimum weather conditions year round, the coast is the best place to head. As well as plenty of sun and hot weather, this part of Gran Canaria experiences very little rain fall.

Invierno, de diciembre a abril, es agradablemente cálido con noches frescas. La temperatura máxima promedio es de 22 °C durante toda la temporada, bajando sólo un poco en enero, a 21 ° C. Las noches son frescas en general en toda la temporada y requiere ropa de abrigo. Las precipitaciones son escasas según avanza la temporada, aunque algún chubasco puede sorprender sin previo aviso.
