Carrizal is a south‑east locality of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Ingenio, located very close to the airport. It is not a tourist area, but a place of local life, with everyday services, restaurants, bars and shops on the main street, Carlos V and surroundings.
The old neighbourhood, around the Church of the Good Event, is quiet and retains old houses from the early 20th century. On certain dates there may be more activity at specific times, such as masses, weddings, funerals or local festivals. The church bells are part of the neighbourhood’s atmosphere.
Each August 15 the Day of the Virgin of the Good Event is celebrated, with religious ceremonies, sports activities, native sports exhibition and livestock fairs.
Las Majoreras is a residential neighbourhood of Carrizal, located opposite the airport. Although it is not a central area, it has supermarkets, basic services and nearby bus stops, making it convenient for quiet and well‑connected stays.
Carrizal is suitable for those looking to stay away from mass tourism, but with good connections to get around the island. There are supermarkets, a pharmacy, ATMs, cafés and restaurants nearby, as well as bus stops with links to the airport and other points in the municipality.
It is not a beach or tourist leisure destination at the doorstep of the accommodation. The nearest beach is El Burrero, a few minutes by car, and Playa del Inglés, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and other points on the island are well connected by road.
