Where will I stay?
Primarily residential, the Burrero is a former fisherman's neighborhood. The beach of El Burrero is located in the coastal town of the same name, in the municipality of Ingenio. It is next to the Gran Canaria airport, with which it coexists with airplane traffic. However, noise does not interfere with daily life. There is a good local atmosphere.
The El Burrero area is quite windy, so its beach too. Therefore, it is ideal for the practice of water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing or wing foil. In fact, the beach is divided into several areas: bathing, windsurfing or kitesurfing. The part suitable for the bathroom is the one that is most protected by a volcanic rock, El Roque. Still, you should know that there is a lot of wind on the beach and it could be uncomfortable. If you don't come to surf, the best months, due to the absence of wind, are usually from September to February.
El Burrero beach has the distinguished blue flag, an award that certifies its environmental quality, both the quality of its waters and the number of services it offers. In this case, it has access for people with reduced mobility, showers, services, surveillance and parking. It has no hammocks, but it does have large wooden tatamis to lie down. On the main street, which ends at the pier, there are some restaurants and cafes, plus a supermarket and a pharmacy.
