El Burrero is an former fishing neighborhood on the coast of Ingenio, east of Gran Canaria. It is a mainly residential area, with a local atmosphere, quiet life and a beach very present in the day to day of the town.
It is not a mass tourism destination or a walk area with hammocks and terraces on the front line. Here you will find a Simple Environment, close to the sea and well located to move around the island. The main street ends at the pier and gathers some restaurants, cafes, a supermarket and a pharmacy.
El Burrero beach is next to the coastal core of the same name and close to Gran Canaria airport. The area coexists with airplane traffic, although noise does not usually interfere with daily life. Its location is practical for those who want to be close to the airport, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and in the south of the island.
The Burrero is also an area known for the wind and water sports. The beach is divided into different areas for bathing, surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. The most sheltered part for bathing is protected by the volcanic rock of El Roque. If you don't come to practice wind sports, it should be known that the beach can be windy, especially at some times of the year.
The beach has blue flag and has services such as showers, surveillance, bathrooms, access for people with reduced mobility and parking areas. It has no hammocks, but it does have a wooden tatamis where to lie in front of the sea.
Right behind the walk is the San Agustin Beach (of ingenuity). It is a secret, hidden, intimate beach, especially appreciated by the locals. The locals also know it as 'the beach in the back' due to its location just north of Playa del Burrero. It is a beach Dark sand, but without surveillance and without services. The Access from the walk is complicated, but it is worth it for a relaxed and quiet bath. In the immediate vicinity is the archaeological site of the Burrero.
